Chicken and Turkey Pricing 2019

Chicken for 2019.  “Trick’s Chicks”

This summer again the poultry will be tended almost exclusively by the girls with a little help from the little brother.  They did a great job last year and are looking to do the same for this season.

We’ll be ordering a couple of breeds of chicks for this season. The standard broilers as well as a dual purpose breed. The standard broilers bring to mind a balloon – truly amazing what selective breeding has turned the meat chicken into.   Sold whole, frozen and shrink bagged – $5.25/lb. Order soon and get enough for the year, we only have them on pasture for the summer and the shrink packaging keeps them looking great in the freezer.

The broiler breed is primarily concerned with water and feed intake.  Pasture  provides them a fresh non- soiled  place to be when they’re not eating or drinking and gives them some amusement. The dual purpose, grow more slowly, don’t get as big and are absolutely more active foragers and hunters. Expect a smaller chicken with more texture and flavour than a standard broiler.

Other cutting options are available if whole roasted chickens aren’t as convenient. Different processing options need to be noted before processing and can be easily emailed along with your order.

Ordering by June 15 can assure that they will be available for you.

Turkeys

If you would like one for 2019 Thanksgiving or Christmas – please let us know.  We are only growing as many as we have confirmed orders for.  They are pastured like the chickens and are typically much better foragers than broilers.

Standard white that get upwards of 20 lbs.  Variation in weights have between 14 lb and 25 lb.

All are sold frozen, whole, shrink bagged, just like the butterballs at the grocery stores (only the packaging method is the same).

2019 – $5.00/lb.
